Sydney Thunder’s largest and most successful community initiative, the HomeWorld Thunder Nation Cup has been a key part of the club’s identity for the past decade.
Beginning in BBL|03, the HomeWorld Thunder Nation Cup returns once again this season, with trials set to take place in October.
The tournament celebrates culture, cricket and community, with teams representing Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka honouring their cultural ties by playing one of the most popular sports in Australia, cricket.
This year's trials will adopt an exciting new format: two gala days of 8-over round-robin matches. The top team from each nation will advance to the semi-finals in November. Players can register as full teams or individuals, with individuals assigned to a team of their heritage.
Cricketers from multicultural or culturally diverse backgrounds are encouraged to get involved. To find out more information and register for a gala day, visit the registration page.
Trudi Busch, Chief Marketing Officer of HomeWorld Group, emphasised the significance of the HomeWorld Thunder Nation Cup in their ongoing partnership with Sydney Thunder and Cricket NSW.

Sydney Thunder will additionally partner with the Nepalese Cricket Association to deliver a gala day for the Nepalese community.
