Thunder name 14-player squad for crucial clash with Hurricanes

Head Coach Trevor Bayliss has named a 14-player squad for Sydney Thunder’s trip to Hobart, where they will face the Hurricanes in a pivotal KFC BBL|14 match.

With Thunder’s last match at ENGIE Stadium against the Hurricanes being abandoned due to rain, the two teams will again have a chance to claim two crucial competition points.

Sydney Thunder squad v Hobart Hurricanes:

David Warner (31) (C)
Wes Agar (8)
Tom Andrews (54)
Sam Billings (77)
Dan Christian (36)
Ollie Davies (9)
George Garton (33)
Matt Gilkes (22)
Chris Green (93)
Muhammad Hasnain (20)
Liam Hatcher (7)
Sam Konstas (5)
Nathan McAndrew (44)
Hugh Weibgen (48)

The squad features two new recruits, Muhammad Hasnain and George Garton, who replace Lockie Ferguson and Sherfane Rutherford following their pre-arranged departures. The duo adds firepower to the Thunder line-up as the team eyes a strong finish to the regular season.

“I’m really excited to join the team, especially at such a pivotal stage of the tournament,” said Garton.

“Hopefully, I can make a meaningful contribution over the next few weeks and help bring home some silverware!”

“We’re in a great position, sitting second on the ladder, but we know there’s more to come from this group,” said captain David Warner.

“We’ve had injuries, a match abandoned, and a few close games, but we’ve shown resilience throughout. Now it’s about building momentum and finishing strong as we head toward the finals.”
