Thunder pair to face World Champions

Sydney Thunder captain Phoebe Litchfield and powerful batter Georgia Voll have been selected by Cricket Australia’s National Selection Panel (NSP) in a 14-player squad for the CommBank Women’s T20 Tour of New Zealand.

Australia will play three T20 Internationals against World Champions, New Zealand from 21-26 March.

Litchfield and Voll formed a dynamic partnership batting at the top of the order for Sydney Thunder last season as they charged into the Weber WBBL|10 finals.

Voll’s WBBL form propelled her into the Australian team for the first time when she made her Australian debut against India in December last year and the 21-year-old has made the most of her opportunities with subsequent selection in Australia’s Ashes squad and for this tour.

Cricket Australia’s Head of Performance (Women’s Cricket) and National Selector, Shawn Flegler said:

“These three matches against New Zealand will be another good test as to how the side has bounced back after the T20 World Cup; the team performed strongly during the Ashes and will be looking to build on that against the World Champions.”
