Sydney Thunder have landed Pick Eight in the BBL|15 Draft and Pick Six in the WBBL|11 Draft, both taking place on Thursday, June 19 in Melbourne.
Draft date and pick order revealed
The WBBL|11 and BBL|14 Draft Lotteries were split into two draws — with Picks 1–4 allocated to teams who did not feature in last season's finals, and Picks 5–8 drawn from teams who did.
By qualifying for both the WBBL|10 and BBL|14 Finals, Thunder were ineligible for Picks 1–4 in either Draft Lottery.
The Lottery determines the order of selections in Rounds One, Two and Four of the Draft. Round Three is conducted in reverse order.
The full Draft orders are below:
Clubs may select up to four overseas players in the Draft. This is inclusive of any pre-signed, multi-year internationals. These players must still be allocated to a Draft pick that matches their salary band.
For Thunder, that means Sam Billings (BBL) and Chamari Athapaththu (WBBL) will be allocated to a Draft pick on the night.
The portal for overseas players to nominate for the drafts will open on April 28.
