Litchfield, Voll earn national contracts

Two of Sydney Thunder’s brightest stars, Phoebe Litchfield and Georgia Voll, have earned spots on Cricket Australia’s list of 18 players set to receive national contracts for 2025-26.

Litchfield, who took on the captaincy for WBBL|10, led from the front with 342 runs as Thunder powered their way to the Challenger Final. Her standout performances saw her named in the WBBL|10 Team of the Tournament.

For Voll, the move from Brisbane to Sydney paid off. The top-order batter amassed 330 runs – highlighted by a match-winning unbeaten 97 against the Scorchers at the MCG. She was also named in the WBBL|10 Team of the Tournament.

Voll’s debut on the list comes as no surprise given her remarkable start to her international career. Making her Australian debut in December, the 21-year-old already has an ODI century and two T20I half-centuries to her name.

Cricket Australia’s Head of Performance (Women’s Cricket) and National Selector, Shawn Flegler said:

“Georgia has made a sensational start to her international career, showing her immense talent from the onset and playing a pivotal role for the team in the absence of Alyssa Healy at the top of the order.

“Her ability to adapt to the various formats has been impressive and will come into play with an ODI World Cup later this year and a multi-format series against India in the new year.
